Each teacher is well educated in Early Childhood Practices and Traditions. Each teacher uses their own experience and passion to create a fun, loving place of learning and growth.

Owner & Director
I was born and raised in Marin County and I went to school at San Domenico and Marin Catholic. I studied Early Childhood Education at College of Marin and have worked in childcare for 2 decades. I feel so honored to play everyday with all of these wonderful beings and fortunate to be able to do what I love in a community that I care so much about.
I have 2 daughters and live in Fairfax, where my family and I enjoy hiking, riding bikes, and body surfing out at Stinson, but it is my love of gardening and cooking that I most love to share with the children at school.
Teacher Melanie
Hello. I’m Melanie and I was born and raised in Sonoma County, and was a competitive figure skater from the age of 5 until I was 18. I now still skate as a hobby, love camping with my family, traveling, and exploring on walks and bike rides! I have always had a passion for working with children, and that really strengthened when I joined the Mentor Me program in Petaluma. Watching my mentee grow from 5 years old and through kindergarten made me see just how rewarding this career is. Being able to help her learn, grow, and interact with other children was a highlight for me. Along with that, I am currently studying Early Childhood Education through the Santa Rosa Junior College. I am beyond excited to work with these new young minds.

I love working with children this age! As a Mom of two amazing grown kids, I find it so rewarding to spend time again with the infants and toddlers, watching them grow and being able to help them grow and learn in this wonder filled time.
Teacher Ashley
I am a Marin county local - born and raised here and I love the beauty of our community. I have been working with childern for many years informally and am on my journey as an Early Childhood Education professional. I love the exploration and curiosity of this age! Some of my favorite things to do include hikes with my fur-baby Jody, trying new recipies and sharing my culiary creations with friends and families, and spending time learning new languages!

I moved to Marin two years ago from Southern California. I love spending time outdoors, travelling, and spending time with my family. I'm currently going to College of Marin and I'm studying Early Childhood Education. I plan on getting my associates and eventually by bachelros degree. I have always grown up with a lot of children in my family. This is where I found my passion in teaching young children. I love working with them and helping them explore, and learn about the world around them.

Caterpillar Academy was founder by these three amazing teachers in 2014 after they had worked together in an infant and toddler center together for several years.
Their vision for a school based on love and respect and a philosophy of teacher as guide, all grounded in the best practice of Child Development and Early Childhood Education, continues to be a guiding force and an enduring legacy.
